A PDF can look finished and still be unreadable. The meaning sits in the layout, and none of it is
written into the file, so a screen reader meets one long stream of text. What goes wrong most often:
The same page before and after. The numbered order on the right is the order a screen reader
now follows.
No structure. No headings to move between, so a 60-page report is one block.
The wrong reading order. Two columns are read straight across and the sentences
interleave.
Tables without headers. A number is read out with no row or column to give it
meaning.
Scanned pages. A picture of text: silent to a screen reader, impossible to search.
Unlabelled form fields. Nobody can tell what each box is asking for.
Charts and images with no description, so the point of the page is never said.
How it works
Triage first, then six recorded steps. Nothing goes back to you on a guess.
Triage
We open every file, tell you which documents need remediating and which would be better
republished another way, and confirm the tier and a fixed total. You approve it before any
work starts.
Audit before
Every document goes through the same set of checks, including a record of what a screen
reader will say when it reads the file. The result is kept.
Structure and tagging
We build the structure by hand: headings, lists, links, and a reading order that follows the
meaning rather than the layout.
Tables, forms, figures and scans
Table headers are tied to their cells, form fields get labels and a sensible tab order,
charts get written descriptions, and scanned pages are turned into real text and
proofread.
Audit after
The same checks run again, and the result is compared with the first. A file is not
handed back while any check still fails.
The record
Each document comes with a record of what was wrong, what we changed, and what a screen
reader now says.
What it costs
Three tiers, priced per page. Each tier includes everything in the one before it. Choose by how much
proof you need: a fixed file, a file a person has listened to, or a file you can certify.
Tier 1
Remediation
$10 per page
The file rebuilt so assistive technology can read it.
Includes
Full tag structure and heading outline
Reading order and tab order
Tables marked up with their headers
Language, title, properties and bookmarks
Checked against PDF/UA before handover
Tier 2 · Most chosen
Remediation and verification
$15 per page
A person listens to every file, so you know it reads the way it should.
Everything in Tier 1, plus
Written descriptions for images and charts
Every file read end to end with a screen reader
A written summary of what the screen reader says
The same checks run before and after, compared
Tier 3
Remediation and certification
$18 per page
Evidence you can hand to an auditor, a regulator or a procurement team.
Everything in Tier 2, plus
A full audit of each file against PDF/UA and WCAG 2.2 AA, criterion by criterion
A PDF/UA conformance report, criterion by criterion
A record for each document of what was wrong and what changed
A dated certificate of remediation stating what was tested, how and when
Forms, infographics and flowcharts are quoted separately. Labelled form fields and
described graphics take more than page-level work, and a flat rate would not be honest about it. Send
the file and we will price it. Typical turnaround is 3–5 business days for text documents,
5–8 for table-heavy ones and 8–12 for complex sets, confirmed after triage. A minimum of
$150 applies per project.
Extras, priced up front
Optional extras for document remediation, with prices in US dollars

What it adds
Source file fix
$18 per page
We correct your Word or design original, so every future export starts accessible. For
documents you reissue every quarter, this pays for itself.
Forms and complex graphics
Quoted per file
Fillable forms get labels, grouping and a logical tab order. Infographics and
flowcharts get a text alternative that carries the same information in order.
Faster turnaround
+35%
Roughly halves the agreed window.
Team training
$600
A half-day session for your team on making documents accessible before they are
published.
What you receive
The remediated documents, ready to publish.
A record for each document: what was wrong, what we changed, and what a screen
reader now says.
The before-and-after comparison of every check.
Corrected source files, when you order the source fix.
A PDF/UA conformance report and a dated certificate, in Tier 3.
Digitally signed documents
A document signed with a digital signature certificate cannot be changed without breaking the
signature. We make the document accessible first and return a file ready for you to sign. Signing
always comes last.
Questions buyers ask
What standard do you work to?
PDF/UA (ISO 14289-1) together with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. That pairing is what accessibility laws and
procurement rules for documents generally expect.
Which tier do I need?
Tier 1 when you need the files fixed. Tier 2 when you need to know a person has listened to every
one. Tier 3 when someone else will ask for proof: an auditor, a regulator or a buyer's procurement
team. We tell you which tier fits during triage, before you approve the total.
How do you know a document is really fixed?
Every file is audited before and after with the same checks, including a record of what a
screen reader will say, and the two results are compared. In Tiers 2 and 3 a person also reads
every file with a screen reader. A passing automated checker on its own is not enough: a file can
pass a checker and still read wrongly.
Do you handle confidential documents?
Yes. Financial statements, offer documents and internal policies are routine. Unpublished documents
are handled under a signed agreement before any file is sent.
What if I only have the PDF?
We work inside the PDF. If you have the Word or design original, tell us: fixing the source makes
every future version accessible too.
Can you fix a document that still has tracked changes?
Not until the changes are accepted or rejected. Until then there is no final text to fix.
What currency are prices in?
US dollars, excluding applicable taxes. Ask us for a quote in Indian rupees.
